YOKE treats you to refreshing, down-to-earth hatha yoga classes in Heusden (Destelbergen) and Ghent. Get ready for a good mix of meditation, breathing exercises (pranayama), yoga poses (asanas) and relaxation exercises with a background of inspiring music. Yoke’s yoga classes aim to boost your balance, strength, energy, flexibility and confidence. Yoke offers yoga classes suitable for beginners and advanced yogis by providing different options for each pose. Yoke’s motto? “Yoga for every body”.

YOKE means “to bring together”. It is the root word from which yoga was derived. It also perfectly illustrates what I stand for. Yoga from the heart. For EVERYONE. Regardless of your physical condition. You don’t need to be flexible at all to start a yoga class.
Yoga is an ancient way of life, which originated around the Ganges River in India around 7,500 BC. There are many different forms of yoga and it is important that you find out which one suits you best. So, try different styles, you are guaranteed to find a yoga style that is perfect for you!
Inspired by a set of breathing exercises with the physiotherapist in 1998, YOKE discovered yoga as a remedy for stress and hyperventilation. And it has been her therapy ever since. In 2014 she completed the internationally recognised yoga teacher training course at Yogalife in Ghent (registered with Yoga Alliance). As a hatha yoga teacher, she was taught by Sanjeev Bhanot, Manoj Bhanot and many others.
In addition to her weekly classes in Heusden (Destelbergen) YOKE regularly gives workshops with meditation classes, breathing exercises (pranayama) and children’s yoga. YOKE also organises yoga team building activities for businesses and organisations. YOKE participates in the Zomeryoga summer yoga sessions which are held at the park of Destelbergen in July and August. She also takes part in the annual international Yogalife festival in August.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING
Wear comfortable, loose clothing, and bring your own yoga mat, a blanket and a pillow. Please come 10 minutes in advance so that we can start the class on time. To book a trial class, please e-mail me beforehand.

Yoke offers two hatha yoga programmes
Programme 1: YOGA TEAM BUILDING ‘AHIMSA’ (1 full day)
This team building is suitable for 10 to 25 persons and takes place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the De Kollebloem estate in Destelbergen. De Kollebloem is located at the heart of a beautiful forest, close to Ghent and easily accessible.
9 a.m. – 9.30 a.m.: welcome and healthy breakfast
9.30 a.m. – 10.30 a.m.: yoga workshop with breathing exercises, yoga poses and meditation by a qualified hatha yoga teacher
10.30 a.m. – 11 a.m.: coffee/tea break and possibility to enjoy a walk in the nearby nature reserve
11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: creative activity of your choice
One option is Action Painting, the ideal teambuilding activity to express what is going on in your company. Together with your team you will visualise your vision, mission, standards and products in a single painting. This fun and creative activity is led by the artists’ lab, under the watchful eye of an art historian with a Master’s degree in Visual Arts.
12 p.m. – 1.30 p.m.: healthy buffet lunch with fresh salads prepared by Punk Food
1.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m.: tandem ride along the Scheldt to the Ghent Belfry, where the participants will enjoy a fencing workshop
4.30 p.m.-5.30 p.m.: final meditation session

This team building workshop can be organised either on site or online.
9.30 a.m. – 11 a.m.: yoga workshop with breathing exercises and yoga poses
